Let me introduce myself first. I am malaysian, just graduated from NUS in July. Currently I am working in a Singapore registered company. My PR application is approved and this thursday I might go to ICA to complete formalities of PR and I understand that I need to get EP152 completed by my employer before i proceed to ICA.
However, my employer told me that I need to promise that I will commit for them for at least 2 years ( I am not sure whether if I need to sign an agreement), if I need them to complete the form for me.
Below are my questions
1   I get PR inivitation letter from ICA upon graduation, hence I wonder is it necessary for me to agree or sign a agreement that I will commit for them for at least 2 years? Is it appropriate or reasonable for them to have such demand on me?

2   If I refuse to give 2 years of commitment to them and they dont complete EP152,  does it affect my PR application? If  it does, what other alternatives that I can choose other than succumbing to their demand?

3 Let's say If I cancel my PR application, and I apply for EP. Is the PR invitation still valid?

其实我有些问题。

我有空，就帮忙做罗。做了一个礼拜， 他请到人了，我就做回自己东西。
今天，另外一个老板叫我帮一条水做新加坡的报告，因为那条水要专心做他的事，、他那份报告要我负责。
我其实有点不爽， 做SURVEY没关系， 因为我有空， 加上是我老板的。
但帮那条水做， 我就不是很爽咯， 那条水， 我跟他没关系的， 为什么要我做啊？
之后现在又跟我讲， 做PR要COMMIT两年，我有PR INVITATION， 又不用他SPONSOR， 都不要公司出钱，作么要我COMMIT 2 年？？
大家会觉得我这个社会新鲜人计较吗？ 还是公司有问题？
敢敢讲， 让我知道自己到底是不是出了问题，是的话，我就要改善自己

其实你说的情况
不是申请PR的问题
而是公司要你做perm staff 还是 contract staff 的问题。。。

现在很多公司hiring freeze
所以只能够请contract staff which require a term (1 yr or 2 yr) commitment~




总之，不会影响PR application 的

但是公司要我答应做至少2年(我不知道他们要不要我签AGREEMENT)， 他才帮我填EP152。 做PR， 一定要天EP152的。
他们不填， 我就申请不到PR。
很不爽， 觉得公司有点乘人之危的感觉

The purpose of the EP152 is for the applicants to confirm that they are still working in the same company as declared in their SPR application forms. If the employer refuses to sign the EP152, ICA is prepared to accept other forms of documentary evidence (e.g. a valid work pass, last 6 months’ payslips, etc) of applicant’s employment status.

What kind of @#$%% company you are working for? I think it is best you start looking around when a company don't treat employees fairly.

I think for applying for PR, your company play very little role in the sense that you have a job and a decent salary i.e. meeting Singapore requirements.

It is not like employment pass whereby you totally need the company's mercy to willingly to apply for you and the company is responsible for you.

On second thought, did you company misunderstood that you were applying for PR instead of EP???

Yeah, they play little role in helping me applying for PR, that's why I am so upset with them.
Since they dont sponsor my PR, they dont pay a single cent for expenses in PR application, how can they request me to give 2 years of commitment? it sounds unreasonable and unfair to me. Just a single stamp and a signature from them , it costs me 2 years? Somemore they didnt mention this matter when they offer this job, they just said they need 8 motnhs commitment and I am fine with it.
I am sure they wont be happy if I bargain with them.

No. they know that I am applying for PR.
I believe they have such a unreasonable demand on me bcoz I am a foreigner and they tot I have little knowledge regarding PR application matters?
One of poor PRC colleague has already signed the agreement with my company. She got the invitation letter as well. but she didnt check carefully or asked around before she signed.
