I know times are bad. However, with a company that don't have good ethics, better start looking for another company.

You can use salary proofs etc to show your earning, and confirm you are currently working and that's good enough.

Unfortunately, your employer is not legally bound to sign and stamp for you i.e. no obligation and put you in a spot. It is frustrating to realise that the company treated you that way. But that's life. I hope you will take it like a pinch of salt and not affecting your work attitude and professionalism.

Bear with it, and tell yourself one day when you are in a high position, you won't behave like one of them. Let not this kind of people and culture change you.

Its not uncommon for companies to request u sign a bond because once u got PR, u are free to look for jobs.
They are afraid u jump ship.
But since your PR application has been approved & u just need to complete the PR formalities at ICA,
then u do not need to sign any bond at all.
Your company proberly misunderstood that u need a sponsor to apply for your PR,
so they apply on your behalf & u agree to stay with them.
Just keep yourself employed at the moment and go complete your PR status
then congratulations!!! Welcome to be SG PR!!!

I just found out that there is a clause in my appointment letter which says that I will commit for 24 calendar months...
but it is not stated what is the consequence if I resign early
Sigh~~ I didnt read the letter properly when I signed.

I think I have no choice but to promise verbally, in case if they need me to sign another agreement, I will say no.
This is the only thing I can do now, right?
Actually this job is quite ok for me,
the working environment is fine for me, the colleagues are nice, workload is not so heavy (maybe i am still new), it is just the salary that I am not satisfied.

If you are serious about leaving, may be should get some lawyer friend to look at your employment letter

my employment letter also has a clause that says i cant join a competitor in the same industry..
but is just bullshit anyway
tonnes of people quit and nothing happen
its not as if we are holding a very senior management position
then maybe it matters
just small fry position wat harm can we do
